Title: Mother's
Love(different versions available)
Material: Angaston
marble, granite base
Dimensions: T.B.A
Weight: 37kg(varies per commission)
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this
sculpture:
Mother's Love was originally designed
for my Wife with our 2 adoring girls reaching up with admiration. If you look closely
you can see the heart shape on the Mother's face which also represents the eyes, nose
and mouth (an evolutionary design - not
intentional).
Angaston marble is used for this sculpture
which is quarried in South Australia and has some beautiful markings within the stone,
especially when polished to a high shine(1200 grit).
Mother's Love has been very popular
with families surpising loved ones with a unique gift that shows them how they
feel and admire them.
Price: Price on
application.
A
similar sculpture can be commissioned based on who you want the sculpture to represent. For
example: Grandparents surrounded by their grandchildren. Or in this case Mother with her
adoring children. Or Mum, Dad and children.

Title: Requiescence
Material: Bronze, granite base.
Dimensions: 72cm(l), 55cm(h), 17cm(w)
Weight: 30kg
Edition: 2/11
What inspired this sculpture:
Requiescence is a bronze version of my
original marble sculpture "Lazy Susan"(see below). The idea behind Requiescence was to provide what Lazy Susan couldn't - contrast againt
white walls. When I exhibited Lazy Susan for the first time I was frustrated that I couldn't get a
dark wall behind the sculpture and not all galleries had ideal lighting to show off Lazy Susans
features. Therefore, I created the bronze version, which is a great contrast on lighter walls and
during the patina process I highlighted Requiescence with
artificial lighting.
With Requiescence and Lazy Susan I wanted to convey relaxation, carefree,
not tied down by our increasingly complex world. I also tried to convey this by suspending the
sculpture on stainless steel rods to create the illusion of floating.
Price: Price on
application
If you love Requiescence, but
require a different look, you can be part of the creative process and make your sculpture unique by
chosing your own patina(surface colouring).

Title: Lazy Susan
Material: Carrara marble,
granite base
Dimensions: 72cm(l), 55cm(h), 17cm(w)
Weight: 30kg
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this sculpture:
I carved this sculpture after carving Sandra,
which is a typical upright figurative sculpture. I wanted to add another dimension to this
sculpture that isn't usually seen. Within this pose I wanted to convey relaxation, carefree, not
tied down by our increasingly complex world. I also tried to convey this by suspending the
sculpture on stainless steel rods to create the illusion of floating.
Price: Sold to Blank Canvas Interiors for client's Interior Design
project.

Title: Stella
Material: Chillagoe
marble, granite base
Dimensions: T.B.A
Weight: 40kg
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this
sculpture:
Stella was an experimental piece as a
means to develop my skills sculpting in Chillagoe marble before I attempted carving a much
bigger sculpture, Thorn. Like Thorn, Stella looks towards the heavens wondering if there
are worlds beyond ours.

Title: Peanut
Material: Anhyrate(natural
stone)
Dimensions: T.B.A
Weight: 29kg
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this sculpture:
I actually started carving an abstract sculpture that looks
completely different from what evolved. Before finishing the original sculpture it fractured
into 3 pieces. I salvaged the larger piece which then became Peanut. So this sculpture was only
by chance and by remaining claim that this sometimes happens.
Price: Sold to private Sydney
collection

Picasso and Henry Moore were always a couple of my
favourite artists since I was a teenager. With these two artists in mind I merged both styles to
produce Picasso's Son.

Title: Sandra
Material: Sandstone, wooden
base
Dimensions: T.B.A
Weight: 40kg
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this sculpture:
Sandra was my first figurative sculpture in stone. I was
stubborn enough to force a figurative sculpture out of a block of sandstone which was
completely wrong in size. I wanted to reinvent the female form with exaggerated
proportions.

collection

Title: Terra
Material: Clay, wooden
base
Dimensions: T.B.A
Weight: 20kg
Edition: 1/1
What inspired this sculpture:
In my final year of Art in high School (17
years old) I sculpted Terra in my family's garage using Bruno Lucchesi, Modeling the Head
in Clay as a guide. I always love to look back from where I began, and believe me artists are
their own worst critic. So when I show students this sculpture I point out what's
wrong with this sculpture. Some mistakes were delibrately sculpted that way because I saw it as
artist license at that age.
