The following are stone that we use for carving sculptures. We also have stone that is available for purchase. Prices for stone are available upon request. 

Mount Gambier Limestone:  

Mount Gambier limestone

Well suited to outdoor sculptures. Doesn't polish. A relatively cheap stone to purchase, this is also a great stone to start learning sculpture with.

(left) Lifesaver, is carved in Mount Gambier Limestone.

 Carrara Marble: 

Carrara marble

Colours are white with a small amount of grey veining. Good for fine detail carving. Polishes to a high shine. This marble comes in 7cm thick slabs, up to about 150kg. This is a recycled marble, hence the cheap price.

Chillagoe Marble:

Chillago marble

Colours range from white, yellow, black and multicolour. Good for high detail carving. Polishes to a high shine. Comes in small boulders from approx 20-50kg. 

(left) Stella, is carved in Chillagoe marble. 

Angaston Marble:

Angaston marble

Colours range from a multitude of different greys, blacks and white all in one stone, to pink and black. Comes in small and large boulders from approx 20-120kg. Due to larger crystals this marble is good for abstract carvings.  Polishes to a high shine.

Sandstone:
Bendigo sandstone

The most common stone around Bendigo. Doesn't take a high polish.
